Lizzie MandlerLos Angeles
There is a play of dark and light in Lizzie Mandler’s pieces, which isn’t surprising given that jewellery design became her way of processing the death of her mother when she was just 16. Mandler had been experimenting with costume jewellery since she was in her early teens, but at 16 she enrolled in a small private fine-jewellery school and instantly knew that this was to be her career. After six years of studying traditional metalsmithing in both her native Los Angeles and in Florence, Mandler launched her eponymous brand in 2012. Mandler’s style, influenced by modernist architecture, is that of relaxed glamour – easy-to-wear chain-link bracelets and necklaces, delicate diamond earrings and modern takes on the tennis bracelet. Perfect for layering, stacking and wearing all the time.
